Travelling in Thailand, Bangkok > Chiang Mai

Travelling on trains in Thailand was an experience. The bumpiness, speed, fans stuck to the roof for air-con… a fermented egg for lunch, crossing little wooden bridges and a loo that you squat down too, not the easiest of things to use I would imagine if you had to use it. A long journey that lasted nearly 18 hours and started very early, we was at the station before sunrise, no one around… just me and my other half and a few trains sat in silent. Unsure whether we was even getting on the right train, we waited and finally made a decision that luckily was the right one. It was a¬†fun journey, one I’d like to do again.
