Where it all began for me, going into the RAF at 17, I was eager to do some jumping… but life got in the way and I didn’t do any until April 2006 where I did a 2 week static line course at Weston-on-the-Green in Oxfordshire, out of HA-ACO (see photo), a Dornier Do-28G92. These Dorniers used to be a piston engined aircraft, but 7 were converted in the 1990’s to turboprop using Walter 601 engines. Still used widely today in 2020 around Europe, they are one of my favourite jumpships..!
Sadly, only having a not-so-good camera phone back in 2006, I don’t have any photos to share, this photo below is actually shot a few years later around 2009-2010.. but it just so happens to be in the same spot as when I first laid eyes on it when I arrived for my course.
